International Student Guide: Borrowing

A library research guide catering to our international students

As a student at St. Charles Community College, the library offers you all kinds of materials that are available for borrowing.

This section explains what items are available, and how to borrow them for your personal use.

Items

These materials can be borrowed by visiting the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the SCC library:

  • Headphones
  • Phone Chargers
  • Laptops
  • Flashdrives
  • Dry Erase Markers

Study Rooms

Students can check out study rooms on the second floor of the library for 3 hours. Students must visit the Circulation Desk at the front of the library to check out a study room key. Please note that study rooms cannot be requested ahead of time and are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Each room has a white board, TV, and VCR/DVD player. Make sure you bring your SCC student ID card to check out a room.

Borrowing Books

Books can be checked out for up to four weeks, while DVDs and CDs can only be checked out for 10 days

MOBIUS & Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If you need a book or article that our library does not have, you can request them elsewhere with MOBIUS. MOBIUS allows you to find material from other libraries in the area and request to have those items sent to you.

If MOBIUS also does not carry the item you're looking for, that's when you can use Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Use this form to request the material that is not in MOBIUS. You can also email ill@stchas.edu for additional assistance.
